Good morning Church!
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me.” He said to the boy.
It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One is evil-he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride and ego. He continued, “The other is good-he is joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.” The same
fight is going on inside you, and in every person.
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Grandfather, which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Sounds kinda’ Biblical doesn’t it? The fruit of the Spirit that the Apostle Paul wrote about in Galatians 5 sounds just like the old Cherokee, or maybe the old Cherokee read the writings of Paul. I know people who are negative. All. The. Time. I can’t stand to be around them, and if I ever get to be like them, please oh please, someone smack me with a 2×4. (Stop it! Too many volunteers!) Almost always, folks gravitate to others with a positive outlook. Things don’t and won’t always go the way you want them to, but the outcome may depend on which wolf you feed. Remember the old Cherokee…wise man he was.
In Him,
Brother Bob
